THE DAILY MARK PROJECT The Daily Mark explores how successful a designer can be when asked to develop a mark within specific parameters. To create a mark is easy. To create a mark that is clear and communicates well is difficult. To create a mark while bound by a set of strict yet simple constraints is challenging. Time / One hour allotted for each mark Tools / The mark must be started on paper with pen/pencil/marker and can be finished on paper, computer, or any other medium Color / Black and white marks are preferable, but color can be explored Concept / Open-ended. The mark may represent a single object, a set of objects, an expression, etc. The purpose of this project is not to create a perfect mark every single time but to push the designer to create a mark following a set of rules, with the understanding that the design process is just as educational as any failures or successes.
